Extended hiatus, the place looks dead, right? Hey, everyone needs a break every now and then.
I decided to reactivate the blog after finding the “2,996 Project” online. This website is seeking to find 2,996 bloggers, each to write a tribute to one of the victims killed in the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks.

You can find more information at the above link. If you sign up, you will be randomly assigned a victim and given information about them. I have done so. I have also e-mailed the blogger who was assigned Lt Michael Fodor, who I knew well, in order to thank him for volunteering and offering to assist if he requested help in putting together his tribute.
The 2,996 bloggers will each post their individual tributes on September 11, 2006, the 5th anniversary of the attacks. I would highly encourage anyone to volunteer, there are still a number of victims left unassigned.

Hi:
I saw your name on the 2996 list that you were assigned Lisa Frost. I used to live in RSM (her hometowm) when the attacks occured. I never knew her of even heard of her until after the attacks, but the whole town really came together afterwards. People would wear buttons with her name in grocery stores and around town, to show support for her family. It was so sweet and so sad.
There was a memorial set up by the lake where people would leave candles and say prayers, etc. I have a couple of photos I can scan for you if you are interested to use them for your blog. LMK if you would like them, or if you already have good pics, that’s fine, too, ’cause my pics aren’t super great or anything, just a sad rememberence of those days. I took them towards the end of the week after it started, so the flowers are wilted, the photos are dew-dropped and everything looks so sad in the morning fog.
Anyways, good luck with your research and project.

I wanted you to know that A Letter to the Editor of the Orange County Register was published today (9/10) from Lisa’s parents. They talk about the “Good” that has come from their daughter’s death. It was quite moving, you may want to include it in your tribute! Thank you for doing this!

Sean, Thanks so much for all your help and guidance. Having someone there on the “inside” was a vast help. Please have all your folks come and visit the tribute to Lt Michael Fodor. http://fredordead.blogspot.com/2006/09/in-memory-of-lt-michael-n-fodor-53-of.html
